Description

It’s the time of year for the Girl Scout Alumnae pajama & book drive. A brief reminder: this is the service project where we collect new pajamas and books for the needy children who live in the three counties The Villages are located in.
Normally you would be seeing red collection boxes in all of The Villages recreation centers. However, this year due to COVID-19, we are using a drop-off method of collecting the pj’s and books and a VIRTUAL RED BOX option. (There will be no boxes in the recreation centers this year).
NEW THIS YEAR…, WHY WAIT?…NO NEED TO GO TO A STORE!!!!!
We encourage you to shop on-line and have your pajamas and books delivered to;
Girl Scout Alumnae 3019 Bartow Lane The Villages, Fl 32163
If you prefer, and we will do the shopping for you.
Please make checks out to
The Girl Scout Alumnae may be mailed to;
Girl Scout Alumnae 2241 Hackney Way The Villages, Fl 32162

If you would like to physically drop of NEW pajamas and NEW books ( children ages 0-18), here’s a quick overview of how our drop-off collection will work.

• Where: all regional recreation centers in The Villages
(Mulberry, Paradise, La Hacienda, Savannah, Laurel Manor, Lake Miona, SeaBreeze, Colony, Eisenhower, Rohan, Everglades, and Fenny)
curbside drop-off near the pavilions or tent in parking lot. GS Alumnae will be there to help.
• When: all Mondays in November and first Monday in December
(November 2, 9,16, 23, 30, and December 7th.)
• Time: noon to 4:00

Pajamas and books may seem like simple gifts, but to a child who has little to call their own, they are huge. We consider our service project an ideal charity because 1) we are helping children. Children who look the same as other kids, but do not have a permanent place to call home, through no fault of their own. 2) All donations stay local: Sumter, Lake, and Marion counties; which have over 6,000 children living in dire conditions. And 3) We have zero administrative costs.
Not too many charities can say that.
We thank you for your flexibility in coping with our change in collection methods due to the COVID-19
We hope you will consider our pajama / book drive with caring hearts.
