About Me

GCMS Notes refers to the notes prepared by government officers to the Global Case Management System, a software used by the government of Canada to process applications. Requesting GCMS Notes does not affect your application in any way. GCMS Notes can be requested from the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) or CBSA. Learn more about the difference between GCMS notes from IRCC and CBSA.

The GCMS notes processing time can vary and is subject to change based on the volume of requests and other factors. Typically, applicants or their authorized representatives can request their GCMS notes through a formal Access to Information (ATI) request. The processing time for these requests may range from several weeks to several months, depending on the workload of the relevant government department or agency.
